Australian Digital Agency Is Acquired by Animoca Brands

Be Media, an Australian digital agency, was reportedly purchased by the blockchain gaming platform Animoca Brands. It will serve as Animoca’s Australian marketing arm as the company expands its NFT and Metaverse efforts.

The Hong Kong-based blockchain company continues to expand its global reach. According to recent reports, it has completed the acquisition of Be Media, an Australian digital agency. The Australian firm, which was founded in 2013, specializes in digital planning and social advertising.

Be Media will support Animoca in its attempts to lead Australia’s top NFT and Metarverse projects. To prepare for the increased responsibilities, the digital agency has already begun employing personnel with experience in blockchain programming and project management.

The CEO of Be Media, Jordan Fogarty, will remain the top executive of the organization, stating:

“I’m honored to have the opportunity to support cherished Australian brands who want to explore opportunities in this space and introduce their customers to the metaverse, NFTs, and the power of digital property rights. In joining the Animoca Brands family, we will be able to make that impact global and lasting.”

Yat Siu, co-founder of Animoca, added his two cents to the conversation. He sees “tremendous opportunities” in Australia, and the acquisition of Be Media will allow his company to tap into that thriving ecosystem.

Animoca Brands’ expanding portfolio includes investments in over 170 NFT-related projects, including The Sandbox, OpenSea, Axie Infinity, Yield Guild Games, Harmony, and others.

The blockchain gaming platform received a $360 million investment round at the start of 2022. As a result, the company was valued at more than $5.5 billion.
