Binance Has Released a Crypto Card for Ukrainian Refugees

Binance has teamed with Contis, a European banking service provider, to offer a crypto card for Ukrainian refugees, allowing them to make crypto payments in the European Economic Area.

The crypto card, according to Kirill Khomyakov, Binance’s Ukraine general manager, will allow Ukrainians to receive aid from Binance and other charitable groups.

“When necessary,” Khomyakov noted, the Binance Refugee Crypto Card can permit transfers from other crypto wallets.

For three months, refugees with refugee cards validated by Ukrainian non-profits will receive monthly donations totaling $75 in BUSD stablecoin, which will be converted to local currencies during payment transactions, according to Binance.

Binance imposed restrictions on its Russian services last week in response to the European Union’s fifth wave of restrictive regulations.

The public has slammed Binance for reportedly exchanging user data with Russian officials and institutions, which Binance has denied.
