Beginning with July 30th, Bithumb Global and Bithumb Singapore, two crypto exchanges, won’t be allowed to use the Bithumb brand name and trademark anymore. The decision was confirmed by Bithumb Korea.
“Please be aware that the said exchanges shall not use Bithumb’s brand and trademark after the expiration date, and they need to use their own brand and trademark thereafter,” declared the operator of the leading South Korean digital currency platform.
The two platforms only borrowed the brand and trademark of Bithumb Korea “to promote their initial business reputation through the usage of the Bithumb brand,” but they’ve been operating as independent overseas service providers with no other connection to Bithumb Korea.
