Chris Cornell’s Last Photoshoot Will Be Auctioned as NFTs on Ethereum

Previously unseen photos of the late rock singer Chris Cornell are being auctioned off as NFTs on Cryptograph starting today.

The photos were taken by photographer Randall Slavin in 2017, the year in which Cornell passed away. The collection bears the title “The Last Session.”

Tommy Alastra, a co-founder of Cryptograph, commented that he was approached by Slavin in regards to the project:

‘I’m friends with the family and Randall. “They saw what I was doing, and this space of NFTs that I’ve been in now for a few years. I think that this is the right way to immortalize that legacy and showcase this—and they all felt that it was in good taste.”

Vicky Cornell, the late singer’s widow, declared: “I’m so grateful that Chris’s last photo shoot was captured by not only an amazing photographer but a true friend.”

Part of the proceeds will be used as a donation to a non-profit rehabilitation program for addiction, the Phoenix House. The NFTs are coded in such a way that they will continue to make money every time they are resold on the secondary market.

“There’s a new model that I believe blockchain technology allows for, and it’s not about constantly asking for a handout. I think that we can really change the way corporations look at this sustainable, perpetual model that I think many are starting to adopt.”
