Bitcoin Depot, the largest Bitcoin ATM operator in the world, has confirmed that it is expanding into Circle K locations in the US and Canada. Over 700 of its Bitcoin ATM machines are already installed in 30 US states.
This decision could offer communities better financial tools and also attract a higher number of people to crypto.
Bitcoin Depot’s director of product Alona Lubovnaya declared:
“Over the last year, we have watched cryptocurrency gain mainstream adoption by wealth managers and investment firms, but what about the people that don’t have access to those services? ATMs being located in Circle K’s provide an easy onramp for the underbanked and less affluent, not just someone with a wealth manager.”
According to the company, it already has over 3,500 crypto ATMs already operating in the US and Canada which offer people access to 30 cryptos, like Bitcoin, Ether, and Litecoin.
Currently, there are about 24,000 crypto ATMs in 75 countries, including Australia, Kazakhstan, and Romania. Out of that number, 20,000 are situated in the US.
Lubovnaya added: “Our mission is to Bring Crypto to the Masses. We will continue to do this with significant partner expansions going forward.”
