DJ Paul Oakenfold to Release Album on Cardano, NFL Confirms NFTs, and DC Enters the Crypto World

It has been confirmed that iconic EDM DJ Paul Oakenfold will release a tokenized album on Cardano. His next album was confirmed during the Cardano Summit on September 27th, and it bears the name “Zombie Lobster.”

All features of the album are to be tokenized on Cardano, from the songs and their remixes to the cover art and sleeve notes. The album is part of an NFT project called “Starship Universe,” operated by Alon Shulman.

NFL Works With Dapper Labs

The NFL has confirmed that it began a collaboration with Dapper Labs in order to release tokenized collectibles.

Steve Scebelo, the President of NL Players Inc., declared:

“The irreplaceable nature of the NFT captures what is special about sports fandom. Our players are immensely excited for the NFLPA […] to make this significant push into the digital collectibles market.

Henry Lowenfels, the CPO at OneTeam Partners, who is in charge of digital licensing for the NFL Players Association, commented:

“The games are played pretty much every Sunday during the season, and these moments can be dropped at the same time and be the topic of conversation for the week. I view this as the early innings of blockchain-based products in the same way that people were using the internet in 1993. It was mostly technologists and early adopters of the technology. People want to spend on the things they love.”

DC Joins the NFT

As part of the upcoming DC FanDome event on October 16th, DC will give away free NFTs. DC is collaborating with Palm NFT Studio for this.

The NFTs will represent tokenized comic book covers and will feature iconic names such as Green Lantern, Wonder Woman, Superman, Harley Quinn, and Batman.

Jim Lee, the CCO and publisher of DC, revealed:

“This drop pays homage to our 87-year history while visualizing a future in which NFTs play a foundational role in novel ways of interacting with DC content and unlocking new experiences.”
