Dogecoin Payments Will Be Accepted for Rides on the Las Vegas Transit System Loop by Elon Musk’s Boring Company

Dogecoin, the crypto meme, will be accepted as payment for rides on Elon Musk’s Boring Company’s Loop transit system in Las Vegas. According to Musk, he “supports Doge whenever possible.” Tesla already accepts the crypto for memes in exchange for some goods, and SpaceX will soon do the same.

The purpose of The Boring Company, according to Musk, is “to solve traffic, which affects every major city on Earth.” The company’s Loop project, often known as “Teslas in Tunnels,” is one of its endeavors. According to the website for the system, Loop is “an expedited public transit system that resembles an underground motorway more than a subway system,” and it is also entirely electric and emission-free.

The first of more than 55 stops planned for the Las Vegas Strip, the Resorts World Las Vegas passenger station, was inaugurated by The Boring Company on June 30. The company’s expansion proposal was approved last year by Clarke County in Nevada. The first Loop station outside of the Las Vegas Convention Center (LVCC), which already has three stations, is at Resorts World Las Vegas.

According to CNN, Loop now offers free rides but aims to collect a fee in the future. The Las Vegas Loop ticket page for The Boring Company reveals that regular payment methods and dogecoin can both be used to purchase tickets. A single ride costs $1.50, while a day pass costs $2.50. The corporation hasn’t specified a date for when the fees would be assessed, so the actual costs can vary.
