Filmmaker Kevin Smith has announced that he will release his new comedy-horror anthology film, “Killroy was Here,” as an NFT. Smith will auction off his work on Jay and Silent Bob’s Crypto Studio, which is an independent crypto gallery that has its very own dedicated web address. The entity acquiring this will get the rights to showcase, distribute and stream the work.
Smith rose to fame after his low-budget comedy film “Clerks,” in which he starred, and that he also directed, produced, wrote, and edited, enjoyed critical and financial success in 1994.
His independent studio will host “Regular Drops” (as they are called by the studio), which are built around “Smokin’ Tokens,” with every token celebrating a different Jay and Silent Bob movie, Smith’s most famous creation. The filmmaker will collaborate with Semkhor, a media and technology company, in order for the NFTs to be produced and distributed.
