An ad was placed on Friday on the Reddit forum r/WallStreetBets in the name of the video game store GameStop, which claims they are looking for a security analyst that is skilled in NFTs, crypto, and blockchain. This would suggest that the company may soon make the jump to the world of DeFi.
According to the ad, the analyst is required to have “skills and experience” in this field of tech. Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree or the equivalent of over five years of relevant work experience. They must also be available at all hours.
The work would take place in Grapevine, Texas, which is where the company’s headquarters are situated. Among other qualities needed are machine learning, AI, e-commerce, and malware analysis.
According to the CEO and founder of FinTech Recruiters, Nako Mbelle, the demand for product managers and software engineers who are trained in DeFi is growing. He also declared that this security analyst position at GameStop would indicate that the firm is planning on minting NFTs or that it would add a token to its platform.
“This position looks like they’re building something serious because they are considering the security angle,” said Mbelle.
