Andreessen Horowitz, a founding member of the organization that works on the Diem project for Facebook, has hired two lead engineers from Facebook’s Novi wallet. They will move into senior roles at a16z Crypto.
Riyaz Faizullabhoy and Nassim Eddequiouaq left crypto custody company Anchorage two years ago in order to work for Facebook.
As Facebook is dealing with several problems, it is no surprise that people are leaving the ship before it sinks.
Faizullabhoy and Eddequiouaq are now joining co-founder Kevin Weil, Head of Strategy Morgan Beller, and others who have decided to leave, despite the fact that two months ago, co-founder David Marcus revealed that the wallet “is ready to come to market.”
The crypto fund of a16z, which is the company’s third, raised $2.2 billion this summer, and a week ago, Andreessen led the $152 million Series B funding round for Axie Infinity.
Faizullabhoy and Eddequiouaq will be in charge of aiding the companies that are a part of the firm’s portfolio “apply rigorous security measures and technical guidance.”
