Is Apple Finally Entering the Crypto Sphere?

Apple Computer has been for some time the most valuable company on the globe – but some are wondering if the Cupertino giant doesn’t have some crypto plans up its sleeve as a new job posting implies just that.

More exactly, Apple posted a job listing in which it is looking for a Business Developer for their Apple Wallets, Payments, and Commerce team. What’s interesting is the fact that the listing requires from candidates experience of five or more years of “working in or with alternative payment providers, such as digital wallets, BNPL, Fast Payments, cryptocurrency and etc.”

This has made a lot of people speculate that Apple is finally embracing crypto. But, truthfully, we don’t know yet, and it could turn out to be nothing special for the crypto industry.

The person may have experience with crypto, but the job listing doesn’t mention crypto anywhere else, nor cryptos like Bitcoin or Ethereum. From what it looks like, it seems that the job is oriented more towards the Apple Wallet app, which includes Apple Pay Cash and other payment options. And we mustn’t forget the fact that Apple hasn’t shown support for this area in the past.

Of course, if Apple does plan on entering the crypto sphere, its impact would be gigantic, although there will be plenty of detractors around the announcement, similar to how it happened with Facebook. Still, Apple showing some kind of support for crypto, even if it’s just with its wallet system, would still be a step forward.
