The co-founder of Ethereum, Vitalik Buterin, referred to MicroStrategy CEO Michael Saylor as a “total clown” after Saylor referred to the second-largest cryptocurrency in the world as “inherently unethical.”
In response to a video of Saylor claiming that securities regulations are not out-of-date because they are founded on the Bible‘s 10 commandments, Buterin posted on Twitter on Sunday: “Why do maximalists keep picking heroes that turn out to be total clowns?”
Due to its history of being released through an ICO, hard forks, having a management team, and other factors, Saylor has previously classed Ethereum as a security.
According to estimations, the largest corporate Bitcoin holder is the business analytics and software company MicroStrategy.
Saylor declared:
“For it to be a commodity there can’t be an issuer, and the truth is you can’t really make decisions. I mean one of the fundamental insights in the crypto industry is that the fact that you can change it, is what makes it a security.”
The CEO of MicroStrategy questioned Ethereum’s ethics earlier this month at the Blockchain Economy Istanbul conference. “‘Ethically sound’ means I need to know that nobody could change [the protocol], including Vitalik,” Saylor remarked.
