Nvidia GPU Prices in China Have Fallen as a Result of Crypto Mining Crackdown

As a result of the continuing repression of crypto mining in China, the prices for graphic cards from important GPU providers such as Asus or Nvidia are now more accessible.

The prices for some graphic cards have fallen by two-thirds on Chinese e-commerce platforms following the announcement that the Sichuan province has put an end to mining operations.

Asus’ flagship RTX 3060 card is now worth 4,699 Chinese yuan ($730) while in May it was priced at 13,499 yuan ($2,100).

A less advanced card, like Nvidia’s Quadro P1000, fell from 3,000 yuan ($470) in May to 2,429 yuan ($380) as of now.

The fall of these prices coincides with a big sell-off on the crypto market, as Bitcoin fell to $32,500 as a result of another wave of FUD in, you’ve guessed it, China.

Furthermore, yesterday, the central bank of China restated its ban on crypto trading and asked banks and payment institutions to stop all services for accounts that have any association with the trading of crypto.
