Raoul Pal Believes Institutions Are Done Taking Profits as Year Nears Its End

The CEO of Real Vision, Raoul Pal, stated that the recent volatility Bitcoin experienced is a result of institutions selling to support their end-of-year profits.

During a conversation with Vlad from The Stakeborg Talks, Pal declared that the market is now lopsided because of the institutions as they are currently selling in order to make a profit. Basically, institutions are saying “I believe in getting paid.”

If we take into consideration the fact that the largest percentage of selling this month was from wallets that bought BTC this summer and that institutional AUM of crypto increased between May and October, the timing of the selling does seem to indicate the idea of institutions selling some of their crypto assets.

Pal asked: “Now the question is, ‘Are they done?’ It looks like they’re done because the market has been chopping around for the past week, which was the traditional last week of everybody squaring their books.”

The CEO said that the market may experience some selling out of Asia, but he predicts 2022 to start strongly as the capital from institutions is redeployed.

He said that institutional investors are very likely to go bullish on crypto next year as they start understanding the technology better “and therefore what that implies in the market cap” by the end of the decade.
