Ripple Is Registered as a Wyoming Business

Ripple Labs is now registered as a business in the U.S. state of Wyoming.

Records at the Wyoming Secretary of State show that Ripple Markets WY LLC’s status as a local business is listed as being “active” following an initial filing a year ago. Since it is a limited liability company in Wyoming, the registered agent of Ripple will now be based in Cheyenne.

Caitlin Long declared on Twitter that “more crypto companies are realizing Wyoming is a better domicile than Delaware due to our crypto-friendly laws.”

Long is known for being the CEO of the digital bank Avanti Bank & Trust and is associated with the state legislature’s Select Committee on Blockchain, Financial Technology, and Digital Innovation. She mentioned that crypto companies like Ripple should start taking into consideration moving to Wyoming since the state doesn’t have any corporate or franchise taxes and cryptos are exempt from property and sales tax.

U.S. Senator Cynthia Lummis also plays a role in this. The Wyoming lawmaker became one of the first to declare that digital assets will become a key part of her legislative agenda. Regarding the news about Ripple, Lummis’ state policy director commented that many people were “maximalist on Wyoming.”

Ripple’s principal office continues to be listed as being in San Francisco. It is worth mentioning that both Chris Larsen, co-founder of Ripple, and Brad Garlinghouse, its CEO, are displeased with the lack of regulatory clarity on crypto and blockchain in the U.S.
