Shiba Inu Has Its Own Fast-Food Chain

Shytoshi Kusama, the developer of Shiba Inu, confirmed via a blog post that it is collaborating with Italian fast-food restaurant Welly’s.

Welly’s has rebranded itself with the Shiba Inu dog being its new mascot and a new slogan that makes a reference to Ryoshi, the anonymous creator of the meme coin. The menu and marketing strategy have also been changed.

Obviously, SHIB will become an accepted method of payment but some speculate Dogecoin, its old rival, could also be an option.

Kusama said that the restaurant is known for “extremely high-quality food,” and it will include healthy food options:

“Welly’s is a “burger joint” but we understand the importance of having vegetarian, vegan, and “healthy” fast food options. Upon the opening of our flagship store, we will introduce more options to cater to these needs.”

Currently, the chain includes only one store in Naples but the plan is for the company to go global without the help of “huge centralized conglomerates.”

Developers have also discussed the idea of using blockchain-based food tracking via Shibarium, a layer-2 solution that hasn’t been released as of now.
