Sneaky Vampire NFT Champagne and Bored Apes Were Sold for $2.5M

In a private auction last Friday, a champagne with five NFTs—such as the well-known collections Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC), its offshoot Mutant Ape Yacht Club (MAYC), and a Sneaky Vampire—printed on the surface of the bottle—sold for $2.5 million.

Giovanni and Piero Buono are the new owners of the most expensive Champagne in the world, according to a Tuesday Wall Street Journal (WSJ) report.

The NFT transfers that came with the champagne bottle are stamped on the bottle as free gifts.

One of the brothers stated: “I don’t plan to drink it. I think it will be a good investment.”

The record-breaking investment in alcohol and NFT, according to the brothers, is a secure store of value.

The bottle is presently listed at 2,500 ETH on the NFT marketplace OpenSea, but according to the WSJ, the deal was completed in dollars due to recent volatility seen in the crypto market.

The Sneaky Vampire Syndicate NFT collection’s designer Mig also created the Magnum 2.5 NFT bottle, which was produced by wine wholesaler Champagne Avenue Foch.
