Square continues its plans to create a bitcoin hardware wallet, confirmed its executives.
Jesse Dorogusker, the Hardware Lead, revealed that the company had started creating a team in order to be in charge of the project, highlighting the fact that the product is in the drawing-board stage. Still, he has added that Square wants to have a mobile-friendly, “assisted-self-custody” wallet and bring it to an international audience.
“We have decided to build a hardware wallet and service to make bitcoin custody more mainstream,” he tweeted, to which Square CEO Jack Dorsey replied: “We’re doing it.”
