Tesla May Soon Resume Support for Crypto Payments

Tesla has dropped a hint that it could soon start accepting crypto payments again, after half a year ago it pushed the price of BTC down when it stopped doing that.

In the September filing with the US SEC, the company said it “may in the future restart the practice of transacting in cryptocurrencies.”

It also mentioned: “We believe in the long term potential of digital assets both as an investment and also as a liquid alternative to cash.”

Between January and March of this year, Tesla accepted Bitcoin as a means of payment for its cars and even invested $1.5 billion worth of its treasury into the King of Crypto.

After it decided to stop accepting crypto over environmental concerns, Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, declared in June that he would consider accepting Bitcoin again if at least half of the network hash rate is powered by renewable energy.
