Will Wright, the creator of “The Sims” and “SimCity,” will play with blockchain for his next endeavor, an experience that will be centered on NFTs.
The name of the game is “Proxi,” and it represents the first video game for Wright in more than a decade – since “Spore” in 2008. It’s also a simulation game. It will be driven by AI, and it was created to take players on a journey in which they can discover themselves and which is enhanced by true ownership of digital, in-game assets.
The player will create a personal diorama of memories based on thousands of in-game available items which will eventually create a user avatar. Gallium Studios is behind this, and its goal is to help players “gain more insights about their subconscious.”
“Proxi” will focus on user-generated content and NFT collectibles. The game will allow users to own their created memories as NFTs and gain a profit from the selling of user-created items within the game. “Virtually everything” in the game can become an NFT and later be resold.
