Tim Draper Speculates That Netflix Might Be the Next Big Company to Buy BTC

Venture capital investor Tim Draper has suggested that Netflix might be the next Fortune 100 company to purchase Bitcoin.

In a recent episode of the Unstoppable Podcast, the billionaire shared his opinion on the list of companies that could invest in BTC and picked Netflix out of all possible candidates.

“I think Reed Hastings is a very innovative guy and has a lot of creative thinking and I think he still controls the reins at Netflix and so I think that might be the next big one to fall.” – Tim Draper

Considering that more and more institutional investors and corporates are interested in purchasing BTC, seeing Netflix taking this step and adding BTC to its balance sheet wouldn’t be a surprise.

Tesla made news with its 1.5 billion BTC investment, leading to discussions regarding the next company that would invest in the leading digital asset.

MicroStrategy has also hit the headlines with its recent investments in BTC. On the 1st of March, the company extended its crypto reserves by purchasing an additional 328 BTC for $15 million. Given this recent purchase, MicroStrategy currently holds 90,859 bitcoins.

Draper also spoke about other big companies, saying that Google, Facebook, and Apple “are trying to create a currency that’s centralized, that’s theirs.” The investor added that Amazon would probably accept BTC payment pretty soon since earlier this week, it added ETH availability to its Managed Blockchain.

Meanwhile, Bitcoin hit a new weekly high, jumping from $40,000 to $51,800 on Wednesday. Regarding the recent BTC price increase, Scott Melker said “Price broke out of both patterns, the local bull flag and descending channel. It is also currently trading above the 50% retracement level of the entire move, so holding above ~$50,600 would be very bullish. Let’s keep this momentum.”
