A number of crypto leaders have had their Twitter accounts suspended. Among them, we can mention @100trillionUSD, @KoroushAK, @mmcrypto, @themooncarl, @TheCryptoDog, and @woonomic, and @wsbchairman. In the meantime, @woonomic and @100trilionUSD have had their accounts restored.
All the aforementioned accounts had a substantial number of followers, which they’ve built over the years. Those affected are known in the crypto world for sharing trading tips and analysis of the market.
Twitter didn’t offer any explanation for these shutdowns. @woonomic, who managed to get their account back, said Twitter sent the following message:
“We have systems that find and remove multiple automated spam accounts in bulk, and yours was flagged by mistake. Please note that it may take an hour or so for your follower and following numbers to return to normal.”
Many of those who share an interest in crypto have formed the so-called “Crypto Twitter,” but it is also true that several scammers have gotten into their world as well. Users such as @KoroushAK are known to have created clone accounts out of their desire to extort crypto assets from other users.
Furthermore, it is strange that these suspensions have taken place just as the CEO of Twitter, Jack Dorsey, is showing more and more interest in the crypto sphere.
