Twitter Previews Verification Badge for NFT Profile Pics

Twitter has previewed an in-development tool that has the goal of allowing users to display a verified NFT as their profile picture.

One of the senior software engineers at Twitter, Mada Aflak, has shared a video that demonstrates how users would be able to add NFTs to their accounts. As a user, you simply need to click on edit profile, connect a crypto wallet, and import your OpenSea collection. From there you can pick your avatar from your NFT collection.

In order to prove that the image represents a genuine article, the profile picture will have a badge, thus showing that the profile picture is legit.

Aflak said that this was just an experiment and that things could change in the future, even asking users to send in feedback, suggestions, and other ideas.

This news comes just a week after Twitter confirmed it integrated Lighting payments with Twitter profiles thus allowing users to send and receive BTC as tips on the app.
