Popular Ukrainian crypto exchange Kuna has reported its trading volume has tripled by today after Russia invaded the country.
The 24-hour trading volume for Kuna stood at about $1.5 million on Thursday morning, Asia time, with the number now inflating to about $5 million.
Bitcoin is now trading at a 7% premium at the Ukrainian exchange which shows local demand has surpassed the available supply following the attacks.
In Ukraine, Bitcoin is being traded for $41,554, which is almost $3,000 higher than the global price which stands at about $38,733.
Bitcoin’s price increased in Kuna instantly after Vladimir Putin, the president of Russia, declared a “special military operation” for the “demilitarization and de-Nazification of Ukraine.”
