Crypto is increasingly popular around the globe and one of the hottest spots for it is Africa. The Finance Minister of Zimbabwe, Mthuli Ncube was quoted as saying:
“I visited the DMCC CRYPTO CENTRE in Dubai, which is a fascinating incubation hub for crypto currency and payment solutions. Came across solutions that could lower charges for diaspora remittances.”
That would be of great help as the Zimbabwean diaspora is spending around $90 million in remittance fees.
Ncube is a long-time supporter of crypto as just a couple of years ago he asked the citizens of Zimbabwe to “invest in understanding emerging innovations like bitcoin” while also asking the authorities of the country to copy countries like Switzerland which were “investing in and understanding Bitcoin.”
