Colombian Cryptocurrency Project Kmuschicoin Gains Popularity Following Adoption on Local Stores

Kmuschicoin, which goes by the name “bitcoin boyacense,” was created by a Colombian environmental engineer, Germán Viasus, and a Venezuelan programmer, José Carmelo Campos.

The two declare that Kmuschicoin can be seen as the first “environmental cryptocurrency” globally. At the moment, it is the most valuable Colombian cryptocurrency on the market.

Viasus mentioned that the whole project was created at first with the idea of selling stocks from the company Tierra Viva, a Boyacá-based entrepreneurship that specializes in turning solid waste into organic compost with the help of beetles.

Regarding the name, Viasus said that the Japanese word “kabutomushi” was an inspiration – kabutomushi is a Japanese rhinoceros beetle.

Viasus considers Campos to be the genius behind the technical aspects of Kmuschicoin and that they always work on innovating the cryptocurrency.

Around 5,000 people across Colombia, Brazil, Russia, and the US already own kmuschicoins, and local restaurants and shops in Boyacá have started to accept payments with this form of crypto.

Currently, one kmuschicoin is worth $2.54. The coin started to be traded at $0.1 back in 2019. It managed to reach $1.5 in 2020, and this year, it reached its ATH when it was traded for $3.9.

A person may hold up to 3.5 million kmuschicoins but not more.
