Planning a Crypto Business? The Mayor of Miami Welcomes You!

The Mayor of Miami, Francis Suarez, really wants to make his city the most attractive crypto industry hub in the entire United States of America. He declared for Forbes that the lawmakers of the city are “making sure that we have the most progressive crypto laws.”

“We want to make sure that we believe that if all things are equal, we win,” Suarez said. “So, we just want to equalize the playing field. We want to make sure that nobody has an advantage over us based on laws that are easily changeable.”

“Every city in America and in the world should be trying to grow its technology ecosystem.”

The lawmakers of Miami are taking a look at how areas known for being crypto-friendly, such as Wyoming or New York, are working, aiming to replicate similar regulations for Florida.

“We’re working on making sure that our incentives are in place and that our legislation promotes crypto and blockchain and is forward-thinking,” Suarez explained.

He went on to say that he hopes the crypto industry will grow in Miami, but also that “every city in America and in the world should be trying to grow its technology ecosystem.”

Suarez is more and more vocal about supporting blockchain and crypto. Just this month, he said that city employees should have the possibility of getting paid in Bitcoin if they want. He went on to suggest that the residents of Miami should be able to pay municipal fees and taxes using crypto. He first gained the attention of crypto enthusiasts after he said he’d invest some of the city’s treasury into BTC.

As a result of his activism, after he met with Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss this month, the latter said that Suarez “is leading the way for governments and Bitcoin.”

On top of that, the Bitcoin 2021 conference has also made it official that it is moving from Los Angeles to Miami.

During the interview, Suarez also declared: “We want to make sure that there is no city or state that has more favorable laws and regulations.”
