According to reports, the upscale resort company Soneva has started to accept cryptocurrency payments at its properties in Thailand and the Maldives.
“Accepting cryptocurrencies as a payment method is another example of enabling our international guests to easily make payments from anywhere in the world.”
Soneva, a high-end resort company, recently started taking bitcoin and ethereum payments at its properties.
Three resorts by Soneva exist in the Maldives (Soneva Fushi, Soneva Jani, and Soneva in Aqua). Thailand is home to one resort owned by the business (Soneva Kiri).
Soneva has joined together with payment platform provider Pomelo Pay and the provider of crypto payment solutions Triple A in order to accept cryptocurrency. The Singapore Monetary Authority has granted it a Triple A license.
According to Soneva, payments made in bitcoin and ether are completely non-refundable, though credits may be available under its lenient cancellation policy. The terms and conditions of the company specify that third parties with their own terms and conditions will process cryptocurrencies.
