Time Magazine Looks for a CFO Comfortable With Bitcoin and Crypto

A new job posting for Time magazine indicates that the almost-a-century-old publication is searching for a CFO that is familiar with blockchain and crypto.

The job details were posted on LinkedIn. Time is looking for a CFO that has over seven years of experience in executive leadership positions and who has “comfort with Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies.” The position is required for the New York City corporate offices.

“The media industry is undergoing a rapid evolution,” mentions the listing. “TIME is seeking a Chief Financial Officer who can help guide its transformation.”

Some of the responsibilities of the CFO are researching economic trends and following local and global financial requirements. The candidate chosen to fill the position will replace the current one, Christopher Gaydos, who has been working for the magazine since 2018.

But Time magazine isn’t the only one that uses crypto as a standard for hiring new people. The Amsterdam-based education tech firm Growth Tribe “has minted its job postings for a digital designer and user interface instructor and listed the nonfungible token on the Rarible marketplace,” mentions CoinTelegraph. Even if candidates have the option of bidding on the token, applications will only be accepted via the website of the company.

“Although the idea of a job ad as an NFT makes no sense from a ‘collectible’ point of view at this point… it makes total sense in trying to grab the attention of digital talent,” declared David Arnoux, the CSO of Growth Tribe.
