Bitcoin Was the Best-Performing Asset of the Previous Ten Years by 900%

Bitcoin has beaten out all of the other asset classes by at least a factor of 10 over the previous decade.

Charlie Bilello, CEO and founder of Compound Capital Advisors, was the one who first noticed the milestone as he complied the performances of the top asset classes by using information from Ycharts.

As a response to these findings, Roberto Talamas, a researcher at Messari, pointed out that Bitcoin had produced an annualized return of 230% on average. The number is 10 times higher than the second-ranked asset class.

The number two spot was occupied by the U.S. Nasdaq 100 Index, which had an annualized return of 20%, while the third spot was taken by U.S. Large Caps, which recorded an average annual performance of 14%.

According to the data, gold didn’t do as well, as it only has had an annualized return of 1.5% since 2011. In fact, out of the previous 11 years, gold recorded a loss for five of them. Gold has fallen by 8.5% since the beginning of this year.

Since 2011, the cumulative gains for Bitcoin equate to an amazing 20 million percent. The best performing year of Bitcoin was 2013 when it recorded a gain of 5,507%. Bitcoin had an annualized loss for only two years of its history, in 2014, and 2018, when it fell by 58%, and 73%, respectively.

Since 2021 began, Bitcoin has grown by 108%. It hit a new ATH Sunday when it peaked at over $61,500.
