In order to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the EXIT Festival, organizers have decided to commemorate the occasion with a step towards the future by accepting bitcoin as a form of payment for tickets and passes, camping, airport transfers, and more.
“With the growth of blockchain, digital currency, and non-fungible tokens, Exit recognizes that festivals should adapt and embrace new technologies to cater for their audience needs.”
Dušan Kovačević, the CEO of EXIT, declared: “The potential of blockchain, digital exchange, and currency is exciting and we wanted to make sure we are at the forefront, utilizing new technologies and able to engage with our tech-savvy audience as technology evolves and changes.”
In order to use bitcoin, you only need to check the items that you want to acquire in the festival’s store and go to checkout, where they will have the option to “Pay with Bitcoin.”
EXIT is not just one of the first music festivals to accept crypto, but it will also become the first big music event in Europe in 2021. The festival will take place between 8 – 11 July in Novi Sad, Serbia, with over 50 artists ready to take the stage, including David Guetta, Tyga, DJ Snake, Asaf Avidan, and Francois X.
