A Kano-based school in Nigeria, the New Oxford Science Academy, has begun accepting crypto as a means of payment for school fees.
Sabi’u Musa Haruna, the principal of the school, revealed that the decision was made following extensive consultations with parents, and mentioned that this should ease the procedure of payment for school fees.
“We have decided to accept cryptocurrency, as school fees, because the world is tilting towards the system. We believe that very soon digital money will be a lot more acceptable than paper money,” declared Haruna.
Haruna also mentioned that countries such as Tanzania or El Salvador are already accepting crypto as a method of payment for school tuitions, fees, and such.
Haruna also sent a message to the government: “Embrace the system and legalize it!”
