Nifty’s Debuts NFT-Focused Social Media Platform With $10 Million in Seed Funding

Nifty’s, a Miami-based crypto venture, has released an NFT-focused social media platform, which could very well be the first of its kind, according to the company.

Nifty’s has already begun a collaboration with Warner Bros. in order to create limited-edition NFTs of characters from the upcoming movie, “Space Jam: A New Legacy.” The movie features NBA champion LeBron James and several Looney Tunes characters, including Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, and Speedy Gonzales. Its debut is scheduled for July 16th.

As part of this initiative, Nifty’s raised $10 million in a funding round, which includes names like Polychain Capital, Ethereal Ventures, Coinbase Ventures, Topps, Samsung Next, and Dapper Labs.

“The emphasis on accessibility is rooted in Nifty’s belief that digital collectibles should be available for everyone to discover, share and enjoy and that technological and economic barriers to engagement should be eliminated,” read a press release.

The NFT series released in collaboration with Warner Bros. will feature James and eight characters from the “Looney Tunes” cartoons with digital collectibles being available in five different levels of rarity.

“We are excited to partner with Nifty’s on this new way for our audiences to engage with their favorite characters, connect with other fans and enjoy our movies on and off the screen,” declared Pam Lifford, president of Warner Bros. global brands and experiences.
