TIME Magazine Now Accepts Crypto Payments for Digital Subscriptions

TIME Magazine, thanks to a partnership with Crypto.com, has now the possibility of accepting one-time crypto payments for its 18-month digital subscription. People who choose to pay with the Crypto.org Coin (CRO) will get up to 10% cash back on their purchase. The digital subscription has a value of $49.

As of now, the option to use crypto as a means of payment is only available in Canada and the US, but the rest of the world should get the same option by July 2021.

The president of TIME Magazine, Keith Grossman, has recently declared that the partnership with Crypto.com is an innovative moment that will permit the publication to grow its already existing community of 2.3 million subscribers.

The chief technology officer of TIME, Bharat Krish, said that the crypto-as-a-payment option is the “next phase in TIME’s continued digital transformation and is the latest example of how TIME is embracing new technologies in order to build innovative products and offerings for all members of our community.”

TIME has really stepped up its game of accepting digital assets in 2021 as it recently auctioned three covers as NFTs – one of them was based on the iconic “Is God Dead?” cover from April 8th, 1966. The cover for the April 5th, 2021 edition featured the question “Is Fiat Dead?” in reference to the 1960s cover and the decreasing use of state-backed paper money.
