Warner Music Group and Splinterlands Partner up on Play-To-Earn Games

Warner Music Group and Splinterlands, a blockchain gaming company, are working on creating new P2E blockchain games centered around musicians signed with Warner. The games will be in the “arcade-style” and created for mobile devices.

Splinterlands represents a fantasy digital card game built on the Hive blockchain but users are required to transfer Splinterlands NFTs to the WAX blockchain when it comes to secondary sales. It records about 450,000 daily players and has 1.8 million registered users. In fact, in January 2022, it was the most popular blockchain game.

The chief digital officer and executive vice president of business development for Warner Music Group, Oana Ruxandra, declared that the games that will be created in partnership with Splinterlands will give artists the chance to have more revenue streams:

“I don’t think we can underestimate how massive the opportunity around P2E gaming is.”

The CEO of Splinterlands, Jesse Reich, declared that Warner “innovating the music industry to meet the standards set by Web 3.0 community members.”
